Designing Solutions that Work

Product Design, Strategy & Pilot Implementation

Understanding what people need is necessary but not sufficient. The harder work is designing solutions that can actually be delivered — sustainably, at scale, by institutions operating under real financial and operational constraints.

EA’s approach to solution design is grounded in a core belief: that the best interventions align the interests of clients, institutions, and the broader market simultaneously. A product that clients want but institutions cannot sustain is not a solution. A strategy that makes financial sense for an institution but delivers no real value to clients is not either. EA works in the space where these interests can be reconciled.

This has taken many forms. Helping a microfinance institution in Colombia develop a commercially viable strategy for distributing climate insurance to rural clients. Helping a New York non-profit design an employee financial wellness product that could justify itself to a corporate HR department. Helping a Dutch development bank test climate resilience solutions with an agricultural microfinance portfolio in Colombia. The contexts differ radically. The logic is the same: start with real constraints, design for sustainability, test before scaling.
